Scrap electronics contain substances harmful to humans and the environment. This includes lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium. In addition, there are also valuable metals that can be reclaimed and reused, such as gold, copper and platinum.
Help us keep Long Island healthy by disposing of your old electronics at the Computer Service Center in Farmingdale.
Did you know you can be fined $100 for improperly disposing of an electronic equipment? That's right, as of 1-1-2015 New Yorkers must recycle electronic waste. To read more about the state's regulations, click here .
Computer Service Center uses only R2 recyclers. After you've said your goodbyes to your old computer, see if there is something in our showroom to replace it. But, it may not be as dead as you think. See how we helped one customer recover photos from a "dead" computer:
"My computer crashed and [I] thought that I wasn't going to be able to get all the pictures off the computer. Took it to Best Buy and they told me they weren't sure if they could do that. Found Computer Service Center through a friend and they were confident that they would be able to recover the pictures. After 1 day, I received a phone call letting me know they recovered all pictures and all the old files on the computer. I am so thankful and will bring all my computer issues to the Computer Service Center."
